Plant Acquisition
Option 1
Hornitos Bottles - Glass Shop
  • Bottles must be purchased/sourced before the event. Work with local high volume Hornitos account to save and upcycle their used bottle.
  • Provide 1 planter per attendee
  • Use Yelp or Google to locate and contact glass-cutting/blowing shop within vicinity of agave event to repurpose bottles into planters.
  • Refer to this as an example if needed, option to purchase directly from there as well if budgets allow.
Option 2
White Cermic Pots
  • Use Amazon or local Home Depot/hardware store to secure small succulent pots that can be painted/decorated. We recommend purchasing white pots to speed up drying time.
  • If working with a nursery, consider purchasing pots from them directly.
  • Provide 1 pot per attendee.
Succulent Guidance
What Succulents to Source
  • Easy-to-grow succulents include Aloe, Jade (Crassula ovata), Zebra Cactus (Haworthia), and Hens and Chicks (Sempervivum tectorum).
  • Due to varying participant experience and comfort levels, as well as a variety of market climates, we recommend sourcing beginner friendly, hearty succulents.
Where To Buy & How Many You'll Need
  • Succulents can be sourced from large hardware chains such as Home Depot and Lowe’s, as well as local nurseries. Use Google and Yelp to find year-round plant vendors in your area.
  • Planters will support 3 to 5 succulents depending on size. We recommend at least 5 succulents per attendee.
